To Coyote Cals

Locked gates and fees have made it very difficult to plan a trip south from Tecate to San Quintin. We suggest that when you start in Tecate you go down the Compadre Trial, when you get to Ojos go east on Hwy 3 to the road near Valle de la Trinidad to the Cross-over trail. Exit the Cross-over trail at Hwy 1 and go north toward San Vicente. About three mile south of San Vicente go west on the San Marta trail. When you hit the Coastal Trail go north past Erendira to Coyote Cals. Both bikes and UTVs can go this route without gates and fees.

It is also possible to enter the El Alamo trail north of Independencia just south of the San Francisco gated entrance. Follow the fence until it brakes and allows you to back-track along the fence to the El Alamo trail. Then take the El Alamo to Tres Herrmanos. Then continue the trail to Uruapan and down the coast to Cal’s.

The gates at Tres Hermanos are controlled by the collation lead by The attorney Hector Sarabia ( sarabia/en@hotmail.com). He has organize the destruction for free trail access in Baja in order to promote his project of a private off-road park. He is the single most influential person who has a lot of responsibly for the closing of access to open trails. I suggest everyone "boycott" all projects he is involved in. This man is not a friend of the off-road community!
